O hai dA. How's life?

I figured I would actually stop being such a lazy ass and just cough up an update. I feel like I should have some really kickass story that involves fighting off hammerhead sharks and keeping the level of world-suck to a minimum. But sadly, I don't.

Graduation is in 18 days, which is fucking crazy. I still have a million things to do and they all revolve around Algebra, also known as Satan's Subject. Math and I are not friends and it makes sure I know that by never allowing me to pass. I'm going to be so happy when I no longer need to deal with Pi, exponents, and A + B = C.

The loverboy is done with basic training and now resides in California for school. Lucky bastard. But at least it's not another "no contact whatsoever for two months" again, because NGL, that was rough. For those that don't know, Travis is in the Air Force. Yeah, I love him. Lots. :]

As for current life, as in right at this moment, I'm sucking on strawberry Pocky and downloading Regina Spektor and Julia Nunes from iTunes. Because I finally splurged on a card. A tractor just drove by.

Tuesday night I did my first 'adult thing'. I voted. Maybe it's just me, but you get a sense of honor after your ballot is in the slot. That one tiny check mark you make decides one of the biggest decisions in our country. It was pretty neat.

I stayed up late, on a school night, and watched the whole election. When they announced it, Barack Obama being the 44th president of the United States, I bursted into screams. My one vote helped create history and the candidate I've supported for two years got what he deserved. The presidency.

I cried some. Then when I saw Obama come out with his family, the tears came again. The speech started and the tears kept coming. I was so overjoyed. Finally I can say I'm proud of my country. Knowing my future children and grandchildren will someday read this in their history books thrills me.

For the past two days I've had my nose buried in City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and whoa, I'm in love with Jace.
A badass with a soft side? Hell yeah.

I think I feel a new obsession coming on.
It makes me want to hook a sword to my waist and hunt for the bastard Valentine. But me a warrior? HA! I'd end up stabbing myself....but still, it's a nice thought. Being covered from head to toe in the tattoos of runes, watching demons seep black blood as they shrivel up into their own demension.......oh hell, I sound like a psycho.
